After witnessing Patrick, a homeless man, being chased away from a barber shop, Tate decides to follow and document his life. As he delves deeper, Tate encounters the violence and exploitation that dominate the homeless community, particularly from drug dealers Blonde and Bearded. Tate's dedication to his project brings him face-to-face with the dangers of the streets. Despite being assaulted by Blonde, Tate remains committed to his project. In a climactic confrontation, Patrick and Tate fight back against Blonde, resulting in Blonde's death. With the help of Rex, another homeless man, they clean up the aftermath. The film concludes with Tate's recording a final message, revealing he has used the documentary as a cover for his real plans, to rid the street of those he despises: the homeless. "Garbage Rex" explores themes of survival and the moral complexities faced by those living on the margins.

While attempting to help him and others process grief and life's challenges at a Christian puppet ministry, Tyrone exposes their suppressed desires and secrets, leading to chaos and revealing the fragile nature of faith and morality.

The play uses the cyclical structure to explore themes of lust, betrayal, emotional inarticulacy, and the loneliness beneath a surface of modern seduction and hypocrisy.
